Ameli Elektrik

"Ameli Elektrik" magazine was published by the "Istanbul Electricity and Tramway Companies" between 1925 and 1934 and was the first magazine of the Republic of Türkiye to be distributed by mail as it was sent to the homes of electricity subscribers along with their bills. In addition to being an outlet that represented how domestic and social life changed with electricity with its advertisements, product promotions and articles, it was also an important representation of the visual aesthetics of the period with its cover designs and illustrations.

We are sharing the facsimile editions of the first 29 issues of Ameli Elektrik magazine, of which a total of 67 issues have been published, with Ottoman-Turkish transcription and visual restoration completed. The restoration and transcription of other issues published in French-Turkish is ongoing and will be made available periodically in the Silahtarağa Archive page.

Ameli Elektrik magazine is digitized in cooperation with Istanbul Bilgi University and Paribu.
